The Psyche
« on: January 07, 2011, 06:26:57 pm »
Originally I was just going to post this in the cage match topic, but then I realized that I want to talk about some other stuff as well.

Anyway, here is the fixed level editor that shouldn't freeze upon execution. look further down the thread for the actually-fixed editor

Also, I am looking into making a more official release within the next few weeks or so. So, 1) does anyone have any suggestions for blocks with special effects, and 2) does anyone feel like making some external levelpacks for me?

Thanks in advance :)

Rubber blocks/fan. If you hit one, you bounce off in the opposite direction

I'm trying to remember if what I'm about to ask is correct (so if my suggestion is completely off, then ignore)
I think when you were displaying text, you had a sort of typewriter effect where the text wouldn't show up all at once -- do you think you could add a feature so that if I press a key or something, everything would show up all at once?
My website: Currently boring.

Projects:
Axe Interpreter
   > Core: Done
   > Memory: Need write code to add constants.
   > Graphics: Rewritten.  Needs to integrate sprites with constants.
   > IO: GetKey done.  Need to add mostly homescreen IO stuff.
Croquette:
   > Stomping bugs
   > Internet version: On hold until I can make my website less boring/broken.

The level editor, when you go back to edit your levels again, doesn't reload the level. If you make any changes, even accidentally, it overwrites any previous work. :(

I finished the game, it's wonderful. I would love to try to make levels, but have no time at the moment.

Fixed level editor.

@Qwerty, the problem is that all the physics are like field forces: I can't change individual objects' directions :x

I have to say, this game is astounding :) I need to sit back down and really try hard to beat the levels so I can advance the storyline, its really quite involving!  Needless to say this is the program i voted for in the Cage Match :)

Thanks Builderboy :)

I'm pretty much done now and am just waiting on anyone who feels like making any external levels. I added Michael's request, plus now it doesn't take extra time to unarchive/archive the appvar when you don't play story mode :)

Thanks DJ. For clarity's sake, I just merged the autocreated topic with this one

The Psyche: Official release v1.1 (also uploaded to ticalc.org)

Changes: Added CLEAR to skip text, and fixed level editor

http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=619

An intriguing sliding puzzle game with an equally intriguing storyline.

Written in Axe, featuring 4 level grayscale and animated tiles.

I've played through the entire thing. This is excellent, and probably the most fun puzzle game I've ever played. I love how you worked a plot in.
