Calc prices on TI website... something wrong?
« on: November 07, 2010, 07:49:41 pm »
73 Explorer: $69
83+: $129
84+: $139
84+SE: $149
89T: $149
Nspire Touchpad: $150
Nspire CAS Touchpad: $160
Voyage 200: $199

1) Wtf at the 83+ price? Didn't it use to be like $90 in USA? When school starts, I can get one for $100 at Staples, sometimes $90, and I live in an overtaxed country AKA Canada.
2) Why is the 89T so cheap? Is there an hidden promotion? Did they stop selling well? Or are they phasing them out?
3) Why is the Nspire series so cheap compared to the rest?
4) The clickpad are GONE!!!

https://epsstore.ti.com/OA_HTML/ibeCCtpSctDspRte.jsp?a=b

Not sure if that link will work, but if not, select your site, go to USA, select graphing calcs, then the calc model, then products. Just to compare, here are the prices over here at Staples:

TI-83+: $127.96 ($89-99 when school starts)
TI-84+: $147.84
TI-84+SE: $179.82
TI-89T: $188.92
TI-Nspire Touchpad: $184.82
TI-Nspire CAS Touchpad: $199.96

The TI-73 and v200 are not sold in Canada everywhere or are very hard to find. Staples doesn't sell them at all. The Clickpad Nspires are gone since this Summer from Staples online store.

Maybe I can get a 73 and install Mallard on it, and play the... 10 TI-73 assembly games?

Or, Chameleon it and get an 83+ for about half the price.

Yeah sorry I added more to my post. Read it again. It also includes the current Staples prices in Canada, which are the same since a year or two, but they are never up to date on the market, so I wouldn't be surprised if they changed, soon.

On Canada's TI site:

TI-73 Explorer: $76.99 (pretty much the only place to get them in Canada)
TI-83 Plus: $145 (if it wasn't for taxes, I could get one for cheaper at Staples)
TI-84 Plus: Item not available
TI-84 Plus Silver Edition: $165.00
TI-89 Titanium: $164.99
TI-Nspire Touchpad: Item not available
TI-Nspire CAS Touchpad: $175.00
Voyage 200: $219.99

There's definitively something wrong with the TI-83+ price. Is it just because it's very popular?

Seriously? No 84+BEs?

Is TI getting rid of the good calcs, one by one? D:

Not sure, they might be out of stock, considering the SE and Nspire CAS are still available.

I'll check the american Staples sites.

Yeah I just saw now. The canadian site is rather fine, too, even if they're higher. On TI website it's insane how overpriced the 83+ is and how cheap is the 89T compared to the rest.

well, if everything went to Nspire calcs, as in they are the only ones left, then that would mean that otcalcs would do better, IMAO.

Whoa, just noticed. 89T == 84+SE? That doesn't sound right. At all.

More like 89T = 84+SE.  When you think about it, they are each powerful in there own respect, but which one sells more?  TI would probably consider that the TI-89 is more powerful, so they would make them the same price.
