It appears they updated the comic over the night or this morning. Last night the res was 96x62, now it says the right one: 96x64

And apparently a small typo in the alt-text was fixed. "oi TI-BASIC" was changed to the correct "of TI-BASIC"

Hooray!  Fact checking ftw ^^ Im surprised nobody on the discussion board over at Xkcd pointed out the typo.  You'd think there would be some overlap in Calc programmers and Xkcd forum users :P

Maybe some TI users are staff at XKCD. We never know. #tcpa has like 60 users in the channel, for example, most of which used TI calcs at one point. Also someone may have simply e-mailed them about the error.

Ah, crap. That's what I get for not checking. x.x

On that note, I'll thread hijack this to let everyone know that college sucks and my activity is only going to get even WORSE.
I'm still keeping up with everyone's projects... but that's all I have time for. =(

You aren't alone, there was an additional duplicate thread earlier. I'd link it, but it seem to have been deleted (or merged, I didn't check that thoroughly)
Edit: Too bad... :( I hope you'll find time eventually

Goes to show that Omnimaga is still really active. I only checked the 'recent posts' thing at the top of the index and didn't see anything.

However, I have no idea if I'll have time again until I graduate at this rate. Maybe the periods between semesters... but that's about it.
Sorry everyone. Also, if you read this <insert admin here>, feel free to demote me. I don't really deserve the position anymore.

Sorry to hear AP, I hope you at least have some occasional free time from time to time to work on some random stuff, or at least some vacations x.x

Btw, I'll merge this topic with the other one I think, to avoid duplicate discussions x.x

EDIT: Done

Yeah it's still in the 100s right now, which is quite good considering it's Summer.

Actually, I suddenly had a thought about having a position with the permissions of regular members that's called "Retired Coder of Tomorrow" or something similar. Just because I think if someone made the position then had to retire they should still be recognized more easily. (This goes for people other than me and even staff from the old sites too.) This wouldn't apply to members that were kicked out or banned, of course.

Anyway, just a thought while we were already derailed.

Yeah, the reason why I did not add such position is because it's a major PITA to edit EzPortal afterward, same for other mods. By default, all permissions are disabled for new groups. That's like 100-200 permissions to copy one by one, making sure to apply the right ones. Also, even on the old board, the permission thing were an issue for additional groups. I considered removing the retired groups many times, too. In fact, if I remember, around late 2007, I did, but I'm not sure anymore. Beforehand, all staff that contributed enough were put in a retired group afterward. Those who did nothing, though, were put back as members.

It would be just too much work. One thing I could do eventually, though, is add a page listing all the forum staff, though, as well as the new board retired staff (later if the old board returned, I could also add the old board staff as well).

EDIT: Actually, those retired groups were removed long before 2007. According to the following pic, they must have been taken down between April 9th and October/November 2006:

If I remember, back then, it had to do with setting up permissions for the sub-forums but I am sure there was something else too. We even used to have special member groups for contest winners, too, but they were removed as well for that reason. Now it is 10x worse x.x

This XKCD cartoon got mentioned on the tinspire Google group. By merely posting a link to the news on /., the probable trigger for the XKCD cartoon, mentioning that most commenters on /. missed the point, and later explaining some of the points that had been missed, I eventually triggered a post full of flamebait, cluelessness, disrespect and even slander from someone with tremendous blinders: Nelson Sousa. And you haven't seen his private mails, where he kept top-posting twice after I explained him that it was bad and that avoiding it was a basic netiquette rule...

Full topic at http://groups.google.com.au/group/tinspire/browse_thread/thread/2978472efdd30e01 .
But don't even try wasting your time with the people on the tinspire group: most of them are North-American-minded (copyright, licensing, etc. - instead of encouraging creativity) teachers who hate games, and are happy to stay undisturbed together among like-minded individuals... You aren't going to convince them that their opinions suck.
